Since the early 1900s, the Levoy Theatre, positioned in downtown Millville, NJ, has been an intersection of culture, education, and entertainment in the South Jersey area. Through various changes and iterations, the Levoy has made a mark on the city and people of Millville as a vaudeville theater, Warner Bros motion picture cinema, concert venue, and more. Today, the Levoy hosts a variety of live musicals and plays, comedians and movies, tribute bands and national touring artists, children’s theater programming, educational classes, summer camps, and more.

We are so excited to have you join us at the Levoy and have put together this website so that you know what to expect regarding our facilities, hospitality, parking, and technical production. FACILITIES

The Levoy Theatre contains approximately 22,205 square feet of usable area on three (3) floors which includes the stage and stage house; auditorium with seating on two (2) levels; public accommodations including foyer, lobby, mezzanine, box office, concession stands, and restrooms; and back-of-house facilities including four (4) dressing rooms, one (1) green room, video and lighting control booths, offices, and storage rooms.

The Levoy has a total of 685 physical seats plus seven (7) ADA spots reserved for wheelchairs. There are 475 seats on the orchestra level and 210 on the balcony level.

AUDIO

The Levoy Theatre has recently completed a full upgrade to the theater’s racks and stacks in November of 2022. Reception to the new 1 Sound system has been overwhelmingly positive. Traveling artists and sound engineers have appreciated the even coverage and sonic clarity of the new system. Some have even asked, “where are the hidden speakers?” due to the impressive output of such compact and discrete speakers.

Following the install, our sound system was professionally tuned and commissioned by the owner and founder of 1 Sound, Lou Mannarino. Due to the complexity of the system, and the time put into the initial tuning, we do not allow outside access to any of our system DSP or amplifier units. Visiting engineers wishing to tune the room may do so via the GEQs available on our FOH console.

Touring groups using an outside sound console will need to send the following analog XLR drive lines to the stage left wing audio rack: 1) Main Left, 2) Main Right, 3) Sub Left, 4) Sub Right, 5) Front Fill Left, 6) Front Fill Right.

Four 1 Sound Contour CT-28 speakers comprise our main speakers. Each of these 3-way 1780 watt speakers are rated for a max output of 146db with a frequency response of 70 Hz – 18 kHz.

LIGHTING

The Levoy Theatre has a professional quality lighting system equally suited for concerts and theatrical shows. With a unique blend of conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures, the system is flexible enough to bring polished and appropriate looks to any scene. Touring artists and lighting directors have loved the energy and excitement that the lighting brings to their shows.

Touring groups using an outside lighting console and wanting to control the house lighting rig will need to connect to our lighting network via ethernet and output SACN control data or output physical DMX lines and connect to our ETC Net3 Gateway. If using physical DMX lines, we will only be able to give you control of our conventional fixtures.

The Levoy Theatre is located in downtown Millville, a city of approximately 27,000 people in Cumberland County, NJ. The theater address is 130 High St N, Millville, NJ 08332.

The loading dock is located on the side street to the right of the theater if you are facing the front doors. The easiest address to put in your GPS for the loading dock is 16 E Pine St, Millville, NJ 08332. The loading dock is the fenced in area directly across the street from this address.

Public parking is available on Pine Street. If you let us know how many cars are arriving with your group, we will put out cones and block off as many spaces as possible and attempt to reserve spaces close to the loading dock. Additional parking is also available in the public lots located behind the Levoy Education Center on Pine Street and around the corner from the loading dock on Buck Street.

Unfortunately, shore power is not available at our location.

 

LOAD-IN

Production can be loaded in and out of the theater via our loading dock. Due to the low height and steepness of the ramp, many touring groups choose to park on the road and then roll cases in through the smaller walkway ramp.
